Alcohol Use Application
An Alcohol Use Application is required for any event in the City of Pismo Beach where alcohol will be served or sold to a group of 100 people or more or if required by the County Alcoholic Beverage Commission. This application is reviewed and signed by the Chief of Police. Any non-profit organization which sells alcohol for an event will need to complete an Alcohol Use Application. The approved application will then need to be submitted to the Dept. of Alcoholic Beverage Control (BC) in San Luis Obispo located on 3220 S. Higuera St., Suite 305. Carry Concealed Weapons (CCW) Permit
Applicant will need to complete a Department of Justice CCW application, be fingerprinted, obtain training with the weapon, have medical clearance, have a background investigation performed by this agency, and pay applicable processing and fingerprint fees. All requests to carry a concealed weapon must be reviewed and approved by the Chief of Police. Contact our Detective Bureau at (805) 773-7020 for more information. 
 
Citation (Fix-It) Sign-Off
If you were issued a ticket by our agency or another agency, you can have the citation signed off at no charge. Bring the citation and the vehicle to the Police Department. After the officer has signed off the citation, contact the court noted on your citation for fine information.

 Gun Locks

The department offers gun locks free of charge. Gun locks are available at the police station on 1000 Bello Street, Pismo Beach. For more information about gun safety and storage, please visit Project ChildSafe.org

 Fingerprinting

The police department offers Live Scan fingerprinting services.  Live Scan rolling fee is $20. The DOJ/FBI fees are determined at the time of service depending on the type of request. Fees are typically between $32 and $93. Ink print cards are $20. Call (805) 773-7078 to schedule an appointment. We accept cash or checks only, payable at time of service.

Property Release
Property is released by appointment only. Appointments are made with the Community Services Officer during the hours of 10:00 am – 6:00 pm Monday – Thursday. To make an appointment, call (805) 773-7078 or email rlapan@pismobeach.org.  
 
Request for Reports
Traffic Collision reports are usually available 7-10 working days from the date the report was taken. All other reports are subject to release per 6254(F) of the Public Records Act. Call (805) 773-7024 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for availability and cost.
 
Vacation House Check
The Pismo Beach Police Department offers vacation house checks as a complimentary service to the citizens of Pismo Beach. Thanks to the dedicated men and women of our South County Police Volunteers, the Pismo Beach Police Department is able to conduct periodic checks of your residence while you are away. Read more...
 
Vehicle Release
Vehicle impound release fee is $278 (CASH ONLY). Contact the towing company for the towing and storage fee. Vehicle and property releases can be made only to the registered owner. Registered owners unable to appear in person must provide a notarized letter giving permission for another person to retrieve the vehicle on their behalf. Call (805) 773-7024 for more information. If the vehicle is placed on a hold, you may schedule an in-person early release hearing with the on duty Watch Commander. This is not a guarantee that the vehicle will be released early. All vehicles must have a current registration at time of release.
