1. How can I get a copy of the agenda?

Agendas are available on the Thursday prior to the Tuesday meeting and are available on the website by visiting www.pismobeach.org/agenda.

2. How can I get a copy of a staff report?

Staff reports are available once they have been distributed to the Council, generally on the Thursday before the Tuesday meeting. Staff reports can be viewed by clicking on the “Meetings Online” tab to the left of any webpage or on the website’s Document Center. 4. How do I request copies of City documents?

Requests for public documents must be made through the City Clerk's Office. Requests by email to City Clerk Erica Inderlied at einderlied@pismobeach.org are preferred. For more information, see: Public Records & Requests

5. How can I submit a concern, question, request, suggestion, etc. to the City?

6. How can I find out what happened at a Council meeting?

You can attend the meeting in person, watch the meeting live on Tuesdays, beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Charter Communications Ch. 20, watch the recorded meeting daily during meeting weeks on Charter Communications Ch. 20 at 9:00 a.m., 6:00 p.m., and 1:00 a.m. or view the meeting live on the City’s website using our video streaming module. 7. How can I get a DVD of a City Council meeting?

You can purchase a DVD of a City Council meeting by contacting the City Clerk’s Office at (805) 773-4657. You may also view the City Council meeting on our website through the steaming media archive. Meetings Online

8. When is the next City Council election and what are the requirements to run for office?

City Council elections are held on the first Tuesday after the first Monday of November in even-numbered years. Each candidate must be a resident of the City and a registered voter. For further information please contact the City Clerk at (805) 773-7003. Election Information

9. How do I obtain a Marriage License?

The City does not issue marriage licenses. Licenses may be obtained from the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office located at 1055 Monterey Street, Suite D120, San Luis Obispo, CA 93408. The telephone number is (805) 781-5080. SLO Clerk-Recorder

10. Can I get married on the beach?

Yes, with certain restrictions: 

1. A permit is required.

2. There is a $62 wedding permit application fee for getting married on the beach. In addition, applicants must obtain special event insurance for the day of their ceremony.

3. The beach is public property, therefore no area can be reserved, roped or sectioned off. 

4. Weddings are limited to just the ceremony. Receptions can take place at a hotel, restaurant, or hall.

5. Set up of chairs are allowed. 

6. No amplified music.

12. Can I apply for a Passport at City Hall?

13. Where do I go for Birth, Death, or Marriage Certificates?

14. How often is the City Newsletter published and how is it distributed?

The Clam Chronicle is published quarterly and is mailed at no cost to all Pismo Beach postal customers. Past issues are available on the City’s Archive Center. Archive Center

15. How do I file an appeal to the of a Planning Commission decision?

Appeals must be filed in the Office of the City Clerk within 10 working days of the Planning Commission decision, exclusive of holidays. A $790.00 filing fee applies to appeals of all actions other than Coastal Development Permits.
